Shannon and Josh’s Winter wedding at Winkworth Farm

I met Shannon at a fair in Somerset and we clicked straight away. She got in touch with me a while after the fair and asked me to be her and Josh’s Winkworth Farm Wedding Photographer. What a pleasure it was, this venue is so cool!

Shannon and Josh tied the knot on the 1st of December 2023. They were my last booking of the year and what a day it was!

Winkworth Farm Wedding Venue

On the edge of the Cotswolds, Winkworth Farm is a family run venue that caters for all your needs. With quirky converted farm buildings, stunning gardens and firepit covered courtyards the farm is a picturesque venue. Winkworth Farm gives you the option to get married inside the converted buildings or outside in the gardens.

With this venue you get exclusive hire with plenty of suppliers such as caterers to choose from. The family are on hand throughout the process of booking and on the day itself to make sure you have the most magical celebration. I love the abundant amount of photo opportunities at the venue. The barns make the perfect backdrop for some group photos and the meadow fields are great for those sexy sunset shots.

The Wedding Day at Winkworth Farm

I met Shannon and her bridesmaids at a local Air BnB where they were relaxing to music and having drinks while getting their hair and make-up done. We got some lovely photos of Shannon’s shoes and dress and captured the atmosphere of the morning. Once the bride was looking beautiful and ready I headed off to the farm to see Josh and his guests. He was looking very smart in his suit and his matching Converse with his groomsmen. Shannon and Josh opted to say their vows inside seen as it was the start of December and cold. Shannon arrived and her dad walked her up the aisle. There were plenty of tears from the guests and I even saw one roll down Josh’s face.

When the ceremony was over, and they were officially Mr and Mrs Sparrowhawk the celebration begun. There was a welcome drink for each guest and the opportunity to wander around the grounds. Shannon, Josh, and I thought this would be the perfect time to explore and get some couple portraits before the sun went down. We came across some pretty quirky looking features of the venue, such as a blue horse box and cool barn backdrops. This venue is right up my street in terms of photography because every corner you turned you would find a photo opportunity.

Once we finished and it started to get dark the guests were called in for the breakfast and speeches. Josh’s speech was FAB, he had everyone in stitches from laughing and tears from emotion. After the food the evening was kicked off with some sparklers and the party started. This was the perfect celebration for me to end my 2023 season on and I enjoyed every second of being Shannon and Josh’s Winkworth Farm Wedding Photographer.
