Farm Wedding in Midford near Bath

Farm Wedding in Midford near Bath

In the heart of Midford near Bath, a farmers field was set up for Emily and Chris’ farm marquee wedding.  Being a Bristol wedding photographer this was the perfect quirky wedding for me. Despite the rainy weather, this Midford farm wedding was exactly how Emily and Chris had planned, illuminated by disco balls and vibrant flowers that lined the aisle. At the end of the hay bale lined aisle was a flower arch with a disco ball hanging down where Emily and Chris were to exchange vows.

The wedding day

Emily got ready at her mum’s with her brides mates. She had the lovely Victoria Azevedo make up and Sophia dolling her up. The brides mates attire were a dark green which was really striking.

Bless her, Emily unfortunately had to walk down the aisle whilst it was raining. The couple’s guests sat on the hay bales with blankets around them. Umbrellas became an unexpected accessory, not just for practicality but also as a charming addition to the ceremony. As the couple exchanged vows under a sea of umbrellas, the raindrops added a sense of intimacy and coziness to the occasion. Something Emily and Chris will never forget!

Once the ceremony was over, Emily, Chris their videographer Harry Steele Film and I went in the car to the field which Chris proposed to Emily in for some couple portraits.

Then we were driven back up to the giant white marquee where the wedding breakfast and dancing were to take place. Emily had a little surprise for Chris… a professional bagpipe player because Chris’s family are Scottish. It was the perfect way to start the celebrations and allow the wedding guests to mingle.

Emily and Chris's wedding was anything but ordinary. The couple's unique taste was reflected in the decor which was fabulous, with music vinyl table names and a personally written plan of the day for each table. Each guest had a mini disco ball and some funky coloured glasses.

The farm was brought to life with a burst of vibrant and colorful flowers that seemed to defy the gloomy weather. Later on in the day a rainbow even appeared over the marquee.

Being a Bristol wedding photographer gives me the unique opportunity to photograph such awesome wedding such as Emily and Chris’. Despite the weather at this Midford farm wedding, Emily and Chris's day was filled with unforgettable moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. From the heartwarming speeches to the lively dance floor, every element of the celebration reflected the couple's personalities and their journey together. The feel of rustic farm vibes, disco-inspired glitz, and the pretence of music made Emily and Chris’ personalities shine!
