Rustic barn wedding photographer

The Wool Barn wedding photographer

I was so happy to be asked to be Verity and Toby’s The Wool Barn wedding photographer. Being a Bristol wedding photographer, this wasn’t too far for me to come. The couple opted for a rustic, colourful barn celebration. They tied the knot in St Michael and All Angel’s Church in Eastington. The ceremony was led by their family friend and vicar, Dave. Both venues are set in the heart of Gloucestershire which is where Verity and Toby live and both work as teachers. Therefore, it meant a lot to have their rustic barn wedding in the heart of this beautiful English countryside.

The timber framed Wool barn is set right in the middle of a working farmyard on the Frampton manor. Couples are gained access to the venue on both Friday and Saturday of the weekend to be able to set up this unique blank canvas. Perfect for a rustic style, Verity and Toby instantly knew this was where they wanted to celebrate their love. The staff at The Wool Barn are so friendly and on hand to offer guidance and support throughout a couple’s journey to make their celebration truly memorable. This special venue also offers access to their intimate atmospheric walled gardens which is a gorgeous setting to have a ceremony and enjoy your canapes, drinks reception and photographs.

The wedding day

Verity the bride, her bridesmaids and her family got ready a four-minute drive away from the church at a idyllic venue, The Stonehouse Court Hotel. Tiel and Jessica worked their magic at getting the girls ready and dressed for the big event. Once the girls were ready I managed to capture some portrait photographs of Verity before she went down the grand stairs to greet her and toby’s family.

Verity and her bridal party were taken to the venue in the most awesome transport, a classic VW campervan. When I arrived at St Michael and All Angel’s Church in Eastington, Toby was all suited and booted and looking very smart and ready to greet his bride. The wedding party was seated, and the ceremony started. It was a lovely personal ceremony led by their family friend and vicar Dave. The celebrations were finished off with some confetti and photographs in the gardens of the church.

When we arrived at The Wool Barn in Frampton in Severn, everyone was enjoying some drinks and canapes in the walled gardens where Verity’s ex-student was singing. I love seeing family and friends coming together to observe and witness the love that couples have for each other.

The Wool Barn was set up so beautifully, the bride had crocheted all her flowers on the table, they were incredible, and it must have taken her hours, maybe even days! Lynne had made the most gorgeous flower displays above the barn and behind where the couple were to sit in an arch. The party celebrated here with an afternoon tea and some lovely speeches by the best man, brother of the bride and the groom.

The couple and I went off for some couple portraits around the venue. They had some practice before because I took them for an engagement photoshoot a few months before the big day. This really helped them settle into poses and allowed them to be more comfortable in front of the camera on the wedding day.

When we got back, the evening commenced with a cut of the cake which Verity’s sister had so cleverly made and their first dance. There was the most amazing Japanese food truck for the evening food, which of course I helped myself to and that was my day done.

Review – “We could not have asked for a better photographer, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you!”
