Bath Guildhall Wedding Photographer
Bath Guildhall Wedding Photographer
Last weekend I was so fortunate to be asked to be Mabel and Harry’s Bath Guildhall wedding photographer. Being a Bath wedding photographer, the Guildhall was an ideal venue to shoot at. I have photographed plenty of weddings before at the Bath Guildhall. Situated in the centre of Bath right next-door to the Bath abbey, Roman Baths, and Pump Rooms. There are a few rooms in which you can get married in at the Guildhall. Mabel and Harry got married in the council chamber room. This meant that they could have all their closest friends and family to witness the ceremony.
The Guildhall in Bath is such a picturesque wedding venue. Filled with Georgian interior, impressive artwork and a grand staircase for couple portraits and group photos. It is the perfect venue for a city elopement or a big family celebration. After you have had your ceremony and said your vows to one another, you can explore the city for some photographs which is exactly what Mabel and Harry did. We walked from the Guildhall through the Corridor shopping centre to get some photos down the alleyways of the beautiful city. We then walked up Milsom street for some shots with a slight ‘posh celeb’ feeling to them.

The wedding day at Bath Guildhall
Mabel found me on Instagram and knew instantly that she liked my relaxed, colourful approach to my wedding photography work for her Guildhall celebration. We had spoken on the phone many times before the big day to make sure we were on the same page with what her and her groom Harry wanted out of their photos.
I met Mabel at her Mum’s house; the vibe was so calm. The morning playlist was blearing as we listened to the likes of Mariah Carey and Beyonce, fab choices for the morning of your wedding! Georgia was her hair and make-up artist and long term friend. Mabel had her hair down, curled and styled with a flower crown. She also had something that made me very happy… Dr Marten wedding sandals! Her strappy dress had many layers and was laced underneath.
Once the bride was ready, she headed to the Guildhall with her dad in a Bentley car. The ceremony was lovely, filled with laughter, and lots of tears from Mabel and Harry’s parents and siblings. The bride and groom were then greeted by confetti, followed by some quick group and couple photos around the city. The drinks reception was at a bar just around the corner, called Browns, next to Parade gardens. It was so nice to see their guests mingling and to capture some candid moments for their album.
As the couple was waved off in the Bentley wedding car, the other guests jumped on a coach which took them to the evening reception at The Old Crown pub in Kelston, the next village on from Bath towards Bristol. There were drinks flowing and plenty of food to go around roughly 130 guests. After some speeches by Mabel’s dad, Harry the groom and his best man the evening kicked off. The Colin the caterpillar wedding cake was cut and Silver Souled band played some amazing music to get the guests onto the dancefloor!
My approach to wedding photography
I am very much a blend into the background and capture it as it happens kind of photographer. Which I think works very well for the Guildhall celebration. My aim is to shoot as much colour as possible and really express the vibe of the day. I do not want you to feel like the paparazzi is following you around, I want you to feel like there is another friend at your wedding. I like to show your personality in your photographs by letting you be yourselves and have a bit of fun when going on the couple portrait session. Being Mabel and Harry’s Guildhall wedding photographer was awesome! I loved being part of their special day and it is always such a pleasure to be at the epic venue.
Being a Bath wedding photographer
Bath is my favourite place ever! I live on a canal boat on the River Avon with my partner and our three dogs. We are currently moored up in Bath which is amazing! I love how safe Bath feels and how much there is to do there. You can walk one way along the canal and be within nature and walk the other way and be in the city, surrounded by Bath stone and beautiful buildings. Victoria Park, parade gardens, Pultney bridge, the weir and the Royal Crescent are gorgeous places to visit smack bang in the middle of the city. I enjoy going into town and visiting the independent high streets such as Widcombe and Chelsea Road. Where you can find cute little independent coffee shops and charity shops.
