Robyn and Josh’s epic colourful Spring celebration

I met Robyn at the Pretty and Punk fair in Wiltshire. She entered my competition to win an engagement shoot which she won. Once we had got some beautiful engagement shots of her, Josh and dog Frank they asked me to be their Cowshed Wedding Photographer and I was so happy because we all got on so well during the engagement shoot.

Robyn, Josh, and I had so many things in common, we all love to travel, we are within a similar age, and we love dogs. Their plans for their day sounded amazing, they were hoping to have a first reveal on the beach with a ceremony and celebrations at The Cowshed in Cornwall.

The Cowshed Cornwall Wedding Venue

This unique venue is so up my street! It is a barn style venue, rustic and chic. There are plants everywhere, hay bales and nature all around. In the heart of the rolling hills of East Cornwall this venue offers a relaxed, intimate setting for bespoke and creative events. There is a farmhouse in which you can meet your bridesmaids or groomsmen and have your morning prep there. You can also stay there the night of the wedding. The ceremony can be held in the Cow Shed and the reception in the Old Milking Parlour.

The Day at The Cowshed in Cornwall

Robyn had her morning bridal prep with her family and best friends in a village next to the sea. The vibe when I arrived was so lovely, the girls were getting their hair and make-up done, painting nails and gathering last minute bits. Josh and the groomsmen were at the venue getting ready and setting up for the big day. Once the girls and the guys were ready, the bridesmaids walked Robyn down to the beach front to meet Josh and the groomsmen. What an epic first look! It was so personal and brought out such raw emotions.

After leaving them at the beach for a moment alone I headed to the Cowshed. The shed had been transformed into a beautiful rustic ceremony spot, with fairy lights, lanterns and blanket covered haybales, ivy draped up the walls and a beautiful, dried flower display and plants at the end of the aisle. It was such a picturesque ceremony; their dog Frank even made an appearance as the ring bearer. After the ceremony, Robyn and Josh were greeted by a confetti line. They had some refreshing welcome drinks in the gardens with games and then we started the group shots.

The Cowshed Wedding venue is the perfect place for some natural couple portraits. The setting is full of colour in the gardens. It is a photographer’s dream to be so spoilt for choice. The farmhouse and barn backdrops are perfect for couple portraits. We were even allowed to set off some smoke bombs in order to capture fun and get those vibrant colours into the gallery.

The reception took place in the Old Milking Parlour, the décor was FAB! You could really tell that the venue and the couple took pride in what they had achieved in this room, it looked fantastic. There was a sign saying, ‘Til Death’, dried flowers standing in coloured vases, memories from the couples life together so far and draped fabric over the long tables. The reception was kicked off with emotional speeches, followed by a yummy meal.

After changing into her bridal Crocs Robyn and Josh kicked of the evening with a champagne spray photograph. They cut their ‘Til Death’ cake and got the dancing started. This was by far one of my favourite jobs I have done, the colourful theme, fun and relaxed vibe was so nice to witness. The couple made my job very easy, and it was so lovely to capture their day exactly as it happened.
