Roman baths Wedding Photographer

It is such a pleasure being a Roman Baths wedding photographer when you get to shoot days like this. Imogen and Callum reached out to me wanting a half day package to cover their Roman Baths day. This unique Roman venue has it all. Perfect for intimate and larger celebrations. What an incredible setting to get married in, surrounded by Bath stone and ancient history. Imogen and Callum had the best day with their closest friends and family at The Roman Baths, it was so nice to be involved in their special day.

This historic building hosts lots of weddings every year, with the option to have it at sunrise or sunset. What a magic setting to your celebrate love and make your vows to one another. Set slap bang in the middle of the city of Bath, if you have a camera, you won’t find it hard to capture a perfect snapshot. The backdrop is probably in my opinion the best the area has to offer.

The wedding day

I live on a canal boat on the Kennet and Avon canal, therefore The Roman Baths was just a short walk for me to get to. This was quite handy because Imogen and Callum opted for a sunrise ceremony meaning that their ceremony started at 8am! I met Imogen, her mum and her two bridesmaids at The Gainsbourgh Hotel at 7am. The vibe was peaceful and relaxing. Imogen was having her hair and make-up done and her dress was hung from the door. After I left the girls I met Callum at The Roman Baths where he was greeting his guests and preparing to stand at the end of the aisle.

Imogen and Callum tied the knot and it was beautiful, surrounded by such idyllic scenery. After their couple portrait session and a big group photograph within the Roman Baths, Imogen and Callum were greeted outside with some confetti. I then took Bath’s newest married couple off for some images in and around the city. Imogen and Callum had hired out a big Air B&B where they had their reception. This was only the small celebration Imogen and Callum then had a big party in Italy the following month.

“Freya is simply amazing. We absolutely loved having her photograph our wedding in the Roman Baths - the photos truly capture the day and are fun and vibrant. Freya was great at giving direction to get some lovely shots, and was amazing with the kids too in the group shots. Our favourite thing about Freya is that she made it so easy to talk and laugh with her, even during the getting ready panic! Thank you Freya for capturing these wonderful moments for us, Imogen & Callum xx”

Being a Bath wedding photographer

Bath has a special place in my heart because it is where I first moved with my partner. We spent two and a half years discovering what this beautiful city has to offer. We now live on a boat on the Kennet and Avon canal in between Bath and Bristol.

What I love about Bath the most is that you can walk one way and be in the city surrounded by beautiful orange stone and pretty independent shops, then you can walk the other way and be surrounded by nature and nice country pubs such as the Locksbrook Inn.

You also have Southgate shopping centre, where you are never too far away from quirky bars (Kingsmead Bottle shop is my fav) and coffee shops such as the Columbian Coffee Company and Colona & Small also a fav.
