Festival themed wedding
As an avid attendee of Glastonbury Festival which Pennard Hill Farm overlooks I was beyond excited to be Theya and Lee’s Pennard Hill Farm wedding photographer. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate your special day than having a giant tipi on a farm overlooking the Somerset levels and the festival site. Theya’s love for music made the farm the perfect setting for their festival theme because it boasts the most beautiful backdrop. The view is what inspired Theya and Lee to choose Pennard Hill Farm as their intimate Somerset festival wedding venue because it was perfect for their family and kids to celebrate.
With hire of the fields and cottages for the whole weekend at Pennard Hill Farm you have a blank canvas therefore can decorate as you please. Bride and grooms have the option for a small tipi or to extend to a larger one. You even have the option to hire the yurts at Pennard Hill Farm which come fully equipped with furniture and bedding for your guests to stay in to have the full festival wedding experience. Pennard Hill farm also has a safari tent and an awesome treehouse which was perfect for guests to stay and even better for some awesome couple photographs.

Photographing the wedding day at Pennard Hill Farm
When I arrived at Pennard Hill Farm the decoration of the tipi was in full swing with Julia Moore setting up the floral decorations. She had created the most beautiful floral hoop display which hung above the dinning area inside the tipi. Lee and their two boys Jack and Reuben were helping set up the rest of the décor; from welly wanging, napkins on the tables, candles, cushions, vases filled with flowers and a giant mirror table layout.
I then headed up to take some photographs of the bride and wedding party girls who were in the cottage at Pennard Hill Farm where bridal prep took place and other guests were checking into their festival stays. Lee and the boys were in the haybarn getting suited and booted ready for mummy and daddy’s big day. In the haybarn you open a door from the open plan living room and kitchen and there is the most spectacular swimming pool which overlooks the horses on the farm. We obviously went for some bride and groom couple photographs here later (see pics)!
Theya and Lee had their Pennard Hill Farm ceremony in the licensed pagoda which is just behind the lamb cottage. The weather was cloudy but warm, Julia’s wedding flowers brought the pop of colour as Theya’s band members played her and the boys down the aisle. After the ceremony their guests formed two lines to see them off with a confetti photograph. The guests then all gathered at the tipi overlooking the Glastonbury Festival site where they were greeted by the Unstabled Bar & Cafe. Guests relaxed, whilst I photographed some lovely candid shots of the kids playing and running around in the Pennard Hill farm fields. We got some lovely group photos and then Theya, Lee and I wandered down to the treehouse, safari tent and swimming pool for some couple photographs. After some wonderful canapes by George Cooks and some yummy pizza by Hidden Pizza the evening of dancing commenced and a sparkler send off completed my job as tonight’s Pennard Hill Farm Wedding photographer.
